Prospective Students
The BE(Hons) (Forest) degree programme is arranged like all the other engineering programmes at Canterbury. The first year, called the Intermediate Year, is common to all engineering programmes. During that first year, you’ll study the foundation material in basic sciences and maths.
Professional Years
After successfully completing your Intermediate year, you’ll progress through the basic engineering and forestry courses to design and management courses in your First, Second and Third Professional Years.
You may wish to go on an exchange, overseas. We have formal agreements for exchanges with the University of British Columbia, and with Virginia Polytechnic and State University. Both those universities have comprehensive wood products programmes, and our students are given full access to them.
